Airbnb’s entry into Puerto Rico, at least before the COVID-19 outbreak, had been very well received. It has raised passions among supporters and detractors. The evidence thus far appears to support the claims of detractors, particularly those of residents.

TambiĆ©n exploramos la prevalencia de alquileres a corto plazo a travĆ©s de plataformas digitales como Airbnb y sus efectos en la asequibilidad de la vivienda en Puerto Rico.
This week we summarize some aspects of the agreement between PREPA and LUMA that in our opinion raise important concerns. We also explore the prevalence of short-term rentals through digital platforms such as Airbnb and its effect on affect housing affordability in Puerto Rico.
On June 22, 2020, PREPA and the P3A entered into an agreement for the Operation and Maintenance of PREPAās Transmission and Distribution System with LUMA Energy, LLC, and LUMA Energy Servco, LLC. Recently, CNE published a report that analyzes important aspects of this transaction and offers specific recommendations to improve it.
