Past Events
On April 7, 2023, CNE, in partnership with the Yale Economic Growth Center and the Tobin Center for Economic Policy at Yale University, hosted a conversation on Puerto Rico’s development opportunities and challenges.
During this half-day conference, held on October 21, 2022, world-renowned academics addressed Puerto Rico’s perennial status problem.
A varied audience gathered on December 3, 2021, at the Hotel Sheraton Puerto Rico to listen and reflect on how do we get Puerto Rico back on a path towards growth.
A dynamic mix of local and international innovators came together in San Juan on March 21, 2019, to inspire and help us forge a path towards a new energy future for Puerto Rico.
A variegated audience of over one thousand people gathered on April 6, 2017 at the San Juan Symphonic Hall to listen and reflect on Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz’ words of caution and forward-looking advice regarding Puerto Rico’s economic predicament.
The Center for a New Economy’s Blueprint initiative is a collective exercise in defining a path forward for housing and land use in Puerto Rico.
On March 2, 2016, the Center for a New Economy (CNE) broke new ground by hosting the conference “Is a Federal Fiscal Control Board the Only Option for Puerto Rico?” in Washington D.C.
CNE’s Annual Conference 2014 took place on February 21, 2014, and featured Nobel Prize winner, Joseph E. Stiglitz, as the main speaker. The conference centered on the issues of policy dialogues and learning societies.
